A muse Studio CAS Watercolor Stamping

Today my friend Jennifer Matott inspired me on the Faber- Castell Blog with her Technique Tuesday post. I used the Star die cut from A muse Studio to replicate her CAS Watercolor Stamping on canvas. It reminded me of a technique I taught at an expo maybe 6 or 7 years ago. Here are the supplies you need: watercolor pencils, rubber stamp, and water brush or brush and water
Pick the color of pencil you want to stamp with.

Apply water to the stamp before you color the stamp with the colored pencil.

Apply the watercolor pencil to the stamp, the color will float off the pencil and onto the stamp, if the stamp is not wet enough the watercolor pencil will not float on the stamp, but if it is too wet it won’t stay on the stamp. Adjust the water as needed.
Stamp the watercolored stamp onto your paper. I did use a cold press watercolor paper for this sample, however I have done this on regular 80 # cardstock with success as well.
Stamp the branch onto the paper so the flowers fall in the appropriate place. I did not use permanent ink for this I used a dye based ink and then carefully painted water onto the branch to give it a watercolor effect as well.
Continue to color, wet, stamp, repeat until the desired effect is achieved. Then to Shimmer it up, spray the Stardust Finishing Spray on top and you’ll have a beautiful shimmer effect.
Mount the image to some layers of fabulous A muse Studio Paper. Embellish with ribbon A muse Studio Impression Plates and die cuts. On the watermelson layer I sanded the dots before adding the stamped layer. The shimmer spray lightens the colors of the colored pencil images.
Shimmer Damask Scraps – A muse Studio

I am a big proponent of throwing away those scraps that are less than 2″, BUT th
e damask paper from A muse Studio is just too pretty to throw away. I decided to make a paper sampler for all the people who have joined my Studio Stampers Team. I just couldn’t throw away the little bits left, so I fed them into my XYRON create a sticker 150 X. I then applied them to a full sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock to eventually cut with my NEW A msue Studio Dies. A few of the strips didn’t fit onto the 8 1/2 x 11 paper so I used them as a card embellishment too!
So challenge yourself, use you scraps TODAY!
Happy Stamping!

I’m working on figuring out how my gallery works, so while I can’t currently upload my images to a wonderful gallery for you to view, right now, I soon will! In the meantime, I’ll be sharing my stamped creations with you here on the blog side.
This card is so sweet with a different opening. The pinking edge is the A muse Studio pinking die cut. The ribbon on the edge can hold the card closed so the pinked edge can be a pocket OR the front of the card can be tucked into the pinked edge to hold it shut. I just love to make cards with dual purpose, then when I NEED one fast, I’m not messing up my ”a muse studio” trying to get a card done in minutes, on my way out the door! Does that happen to YOU?
